AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner focuses on overall knowledge of the AWS Cloud and gives a foundational-level overview of all AWS services. AWS Certified AI Practitioner covers the breadth of AI frameworks, concepts, and associated AWS technologies, with an emphasis on generative AI. The exam content outline for Cloud Practitioner contains only one task statement related to AI, while the entire AI Practitioner exam focuses on AI, ML, and generative AI.

Do I need to earn the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner before taking the AI Practitioner exam?

No. AWS lists no mandatory prerequisites for this exam. However, if you are new to IT and AWS Cloud, AWS recommends starting with AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials or AWS Technical Essentials. Certified individuals holding the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or an Associate-level AWS Certification do not need to take the foundational cloud courses and can start with free AI foundational training.

What certification should I earn next after AWS Certified AI Practitioner?

For individuals transitioning to cloud careers, AWS recommends AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate. For those pursuing careers in data, AI, and machine learning, AWS recommends AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate and/or AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer - Associate.

Can I recertify by passing a different AWS exam?

Yes. You can recertify the AWS Certified AI Practitioner by passing the latest version of this exam, or by earning the AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer - Associate, which will automatically recertify this certification.

Are there any hands-on labs or performance-based questions in the AIF-C01 exam?

The AIF-C01 exam includes multiple choice, multiple response, ordering, and matching question types. There are no hands-on labs or performance-based questions in this exam.

What is the retake policy for the AIF-C01 exam?

AWS Certification exams can be rescheduled twice. If you fail the exam, you must wait 14 days before retaking it. There is no limit on the number of attempts, but each attempt requires a new exam fee.

How soon will I receive my exam results?

Exam results are typically available within 5 business days after you complete your exam. You can access your results in your AWS Certification Account under Exam History.

Are there any testing accommodations available for non-native English speakers?

Yes. A 30-minute exam extension is available upon request to non-native English speakers when taking an exam in English. The accommodation, 'ESL +30', only needs to be requested once, prior to registering for an exam, and it will apply to all future exam registrations.
