How does DOP-C02 relate to the previous version of this exam?

DOP-C02 is the current version of the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional exam, replacing the earlier DOP-C01. The exam content was updated to reflect current AWS services and best practices. Candidates who passed DOP-C01 remain certified until their credential expires.

Do I need to earn an Associate-level certification before taking DOP-C02?

No. AWS does not require any prerequisite certifications for the Professional-level DevOps Engineer exam. However, AWS recommends two or more years of experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments.

Is there a hands-on or lab component in the DOP-C02 exam?

No. The DOP-C02 exam consists entirely of multiple-choice and multiple-response questions. There is no hands-on lab or performance-based component.

What is the retake policy if I fail the DOP-C02 exam?

AWS allows you to retake a failed exam after a 14-day waiting period. There is no limit on the number of attempts, but each attempt requires a new exam registration and fee.
